Basil Boyd Withers

Basil B. Withers, 69, of Niles, died suddenly, Sunday, October 25, 2026.

His life began February 5, 1957 in Buchanan the youngest of three children born to Basil and Frances Withers. He married Linda Nix on June 10, 1978 in the First Presbyterian Church of Buchanan.

Basil graduated Buchanan High School in 1975 where he played football, excelling in Punt, Pass and Kick. In his adult years he competed and won many trophies in body- building, including Mr. Michigan Novice. He invested his time in Big Brothers/Big Sisters staying in contact with his “Little Brother” for over thirty years. Basil lived a quiet life of faith, becoming a Christian at the age of eighteen. His faith was very important to him and he shared it when- ever he could. Basil loved being outdoors hunting and fishing.
