Clayson "Butch" Ralph Cooper, 76, of Crystal River, Florida, died peacefully Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

His life began October 5, 1948, in Niles, Michigan, the oldest of two children born to Clayson E. and Betty Cooper.

Clayson graduated from Niles High School in 1967 and continued his education in graphic arts at Ferris State University. He cherished his work and used his education in graphic arts printing for both Niles Printing and Ave Maria Press. Clayson was an expert marksman in archery and avidly shared his admiration for the sport by helping to train children for the Special Olympics. He also enjoyed bowling in his hometown of Niles and participated in local competitions. Clayson was affectionately known as "Bo" to his niece and family.

Clayson will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his sister, Linda Wildern of Plainwell, Michigan; one niece and her husband; two great nieces; one great nephew; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

The family will observe a private remembrance. Clayson will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Garden in Sumnerville.
