Curt Edward Hetler, 69 of Berrien Center, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Pine Ridge Center in Stevensville.
Curt was born on July 9, 1953 in Niles to the late Le Roy and Lillian (Kolm) Hetler.
Curt was a member of the Berrien Springs High School Class of 1971. Curt had worked primarily on the Heltler Family Farm but also was a Semi Truck Driver and worked in the Parts Department at Wimberly Ford in Dowagiac. In his spare time, Curt restored old tractors. His meticulous nature and attention to detail was beneficial in restoration of Ford, John Deere and any other brand that he was working on. Curt also grew herbs, fruits and vegetables in their greenhouse that was sold at the Farmer’s Market in South Bend. Curt also enjoyed listening to music and was a past member of the Sons of the American Legion in Berrien Springs.
He is survived by his brother, Mark Hetler of Eau Claire, nephews, Matthew and Nathan Hetler both of Berrien Center and many other extended family and friends.
Visitation for Curt will be on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 1340 Sycamore St. in Niles. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. Niles.
