David P. Barrett, age 68 years of Mishawaka, Indiana died on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. He was born December 11, 1946 in Cook County, Illinois to William and Florence (Zimmerman) Barrett.
David was a very loving and caring man. He delivered ice cream for Summer Song and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren while working. He loved animals, especially his birds, and arts and crafts projects.
Surviving family includes one daughter, Jeanie (& Joe) Focht of Niles, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, David’s long-time companion Jessie Bucher of Mishawaka and son-in-law Ken Cwidak of Mishawaka.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Barrett and a sister, Carol Hoffman.
The family of David Barrett will receive relatives and friends from 5-6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Donations in memory of David may be made to Pet Refuge in Mishawaka.
