Deborah Jeanne Bookout

 Deborah Jeanne Bookout, 61, of Niles, died Sunday, February 15, 2026. Her life began February 10, 1965 in Findlay Ohio, one of two children born to Mel and Lesley Bookout.

 Debbie graduated from Niles High School in 1983. Following high-school she moved to New York and worked in retail management. She later moved back to Niles, working in the insurance industry. Most recently she was employed by Paddletek.

 Debbie owned horses and she enjoyed riding and caring for them. Debbie could often be found in the sun and walking the beach looking for beach-glass. She never found an animal she didn't like, especially cats. Debbie planned to reincarnate as a cat, so watch for any strays because you never know.

 Debbie will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her son, Joshua Abbott of Niles; mother, Lesley Bookout of Niles; brother, Robert (Tricia) Bookout of Niles; five aunts, Susie Counts of Niles, Stephanie Anders of Niles, Mary Jo Hosack of Texas, Kathy Baker of Tennessee, Julie (Kerry) Klemm of Tennessee; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and her special friend Peter.

 Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Debbie's life on April 11, 2026 at the Elks in Niles. Time to be announced.

 The family prefers memorial donations in Deborah's name be directed to Psi lota Xi National memorial fund, care of Sara Overway, 211 Princeton Lane, Logansport, Indiana 46947.
