Niles – Donald McLean passed away on September 24, 2017 at home. Donald was born to William and Linda (Rossow) McLean in Berrien Center, MI. Donald attended Buchanan high School. He served in the Naval Reserves and then served in the US Army. On December 6, 1958, Donald married the love of his life, Ella Holcomb in Petersburg, VA. They celebrated 58 years of marriage this past December. After he served in the US Army at Fort Lee, Donald and Ella moved to Buchanan, MI and later moved to Niles, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, who passed on February 9, 2017, his parents, and a sister, Betty McLean.

Don enjoyed working in his yard and building wooden windmills and lighthouses for his yard and for others. Spending time with his family was a blessing and always brought a smile to his face. He was extremely happy when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren visited. He was also known to share a joke or two.

Donald is survived by his 6 children, Rose (Ed) Mitchell, Cheryl (Jerry) Willis, William (Danielle) McLean, Jennifer (Frank) Lemanski all of Niles, MI, Donna Good of Howard City, MI and David (Jennifer) McLean of Sulphur, LA; grandchildren, Jamie Jarman of Mesa, AZ, Kayla Jarman, Travis and Ryne Willis, Robert, Nick and Michael Good, Kim and Doug Andrews, Danielle, Taylor and Brian McClane, Christopher Lemanski, Kyle anadmind Sean Polomaczak; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. The family will have private services at a later date. Halbritter Wickens Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.halbritterwickens.com
