Ella McLean, 74, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Ella was born to Vergie Miller on October 19, 1942 in Hopewell Virginia. Ella was raised by her Aunt Elsie McCann in Petersburg, Virginia.

On December 6, 1958, Ella married the love of her life, Donald McLean in Petersburg. They celebrated 58 years of marriage this past December. After her husband finished serving his time in the U.S. Army, they moved to Buchanan, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her mother in 2003, and her brother, Cecil Miller in 2003.

Ella enjoyed working in her flower garden, and sitting outside listening to nature and the sounds of her pond. She loved baking holiday treats for her family. She was also an avid genealogy researcher and enjoyed helping others with theirs. She was a past member of the Four Flags Area Genealogy Society. Spending time with her family was a blessing to her, she was extremely happy when she was visited by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ella is survived by her six children, Rose (Ed) Mitchell, Cheryl (Jerry) Willis, William (Danielle) Mclean, Jennifer (Frank) Lemanski all of Niles, Michigan, Donna Good of Howard City, Michigan and David (Jennifer) McLean of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jamie Jarman of Mesa, Arizona, and Kayla Jarman, Travis and Ryne Willis, Robert, Nick, and Michael Good, Kim and Doug Andrews, Danielle, Taylor and Brian McClane, Christopher Lemanski, and Kyle and Sean Polomaczak; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Frances Elder of Lizella, Georgia, Doris Brooks, Mary Miller, Harriet Frenier, George Miller of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Betty Buker of Ohio, and Virginia Conner, Dinwiddle, Virginia. Ella had many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. The family will have private services at a later date. Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home will be handling arrangements.
