Johnathon Michael Jankoviak, 14, of Niles, died December 8, 2025 following an automobile accident. He was the fourth of six children born to Chris and Mandy Jankoviak on August 2, 2011.
Johnny Boy. Johnny lived big. His curly blond hair, large frame and huge hands were as big as his personality. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and overflowing joy. Johnny loved Jesus and he loved people. Johnny and his siblings were homeschooled and best friends. He spent his time volunteering with the children in church and investing in friendships. He was competitive and passionate about all sports. He loved fishing, swimming, baseball, basketball, pickleball and football. Johnny was a hard worker and enjoyed taking care of his animals and getting his hands dirty. Everyone who knew Johnny loved Johnny.
Johnny will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Mandy Jankoviak of Niles; his favorite sister, Ellesyn Mary Kay Jankoviak of Niles; four brothers, Nolyn Wayne (Gracie) Jankoviak of Cheyenne Wyoming, Archer Taden Jankoviak of Niles, Boaz Christopher Jankoviak of Niles, Benson Mathias Jankoviak of Niles; grandparents, Kathleen Jankoviak of Niles, Mike and Judy Holtgren of Niles; seven Aunts, Cynthia Ann (Larry) Cashier of Niles, Constance Joan Jankoviak of Niles, Tricia Marie (Jeremy) Applegate of Florida, Rebecca Sue (Josh) Asmus of Niles, Monica Ruth (Matt) Moore of Niles, Karri Michelle (Matt) Sterling of Niles, Debra Nicole (Aaron) Weise of Niles; nine uncles, Jon James (Toni) Jankoviak of Dowagiac, David Moses Jankoviak of Niles, Daniel Matthew (Keyna) Jankoviak of Niles, Andrew Paul Jankoviak of Niles, Nicholas Gerard (Christina) Jankoviak of Arkansas, Jeremy Francis (Alison) Jankoviak of Edwardsburg, Jerald Matthew (Alma) Holtgren of Niles, John Martin (Amy) Holtgren of Manistee, Shawn Michael (Katie) Holtgren of Osceola and numerous cousins, who he treasured dearly!
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jon Jankoviak and his father Chris Jankoviak.
Family and friends will gather in Summit Church 1700 West River Road, Niles on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His service will be held at Bethel University in the Everest -Rohrer Fine Arts Center, 1001 Bethel Circle Drive Mishawaka, Indiana 46545, Monday, December 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Johnny will be laid to rest in Silverbrook Cemetery alongside his father at a later date.
