Kevin Sykes

Kevin Joseph Sykes, age 63 years of Niles, Michigan died at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Lakeland Hospital – Niles following a brief illness.
He was born on November 19, 1953 in Jackson, Michigan to Gerald Felix and Eileen (Thorrez) Sykes. He was graduated from Lumen Christi High School in Jackson, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He also completed the rigorous testing to become a Certified Public Accountant. He served as an auditor for several accountancy firms in South Bend, Indiana, and had more recently worked as an independent auditor.
He was raised in the Catholic Church, and enjoyed the climate – and especially the summers – of southwest Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by brothers Jerry Sykes and Bernie Sykes.
Surviving family includes his sister, Terry (& Danny) Field of Jackson and brothers Mickey (& Mary Kay) Sykes of Kalamazoo, and Steve (& Chris) Sykes of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
