Leann Christine Fisher Temple, age 56 years of Niles, sister, aunt, cousin, and animal lover passed away at 3:14 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana from complications of injuries suffered in a house fire on May 17, 2020.
She was born on January 25, 1964 in Niles and was the daughter of Paul L. and Martha E. (Schloerke) Fisher. She was a Niles High School class of 1982 graduate, and she lived in both Florida and Indianapolis for a while before returning back to Niles. She had been employed at FDC Graphic Films in South Bend, Indiana for sixteen years.
Surviving family members includes her brother, Patrick (& Jamie) Fisher of Niles and their children, Lauren, Parker, and Jenson; and aunts Eleanor (Mrs. Leon) Fisher of Niles and Merrill (Mrs. Robert) Fisher of Grand Haven, Michigan; and many many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Martha Fisher; aunts Mary Magin, Dorothy Hicks, and Miss Virginia “Ginny” Fisher; and uncles Robert Fisher, and Leon “Lonnie” Fisher.
Leann enjoyed weekly movies at the Niles Wonderland Cinema with friends. She was also a big animal and wildlife lover as well as an avid book reader. In her younger years she was a popular baton twirler and had won numerous trophies and awards.
Leann was a true friend, reliable employee and co-worker, a faithful Sunday morning movie buddy, and devoted pet parent, risking and ultimately sacrificing her life in an effort to save her beloved pets.
Committal Rites for Leann Temple will be read at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery on Chicago Road in Niles by the Rev. Christian Johnston of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles.
