Mark Asmus

Mark Asmus, age 55 years of South Bend, Indiana and formerly of Niles, Michigan died Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home unexpectedly, but of natural causes.

He was born on April 24, 1957 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Leon G. and Carolyn J. (Sellers) Asmus. He was graduated from Niles High School in 1975, and attended Southwestern Michigan College. He was employed at Burns Electric Service.

Mark enjoyed camping, and spending time “up north” at the cottage near Bitely, Michigan. He was also an automobile enthusiast, and proud of his car.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Lee Asmus in 2006.

Surviving family includes his parents, Carolyn and Leon Asmus of Niles; brothers, Kevin (& Mellissa) Asmus of Niles and Clifford (& Barbara) Asmus of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and many nephews and a niece.

The family of Mark Asmus will gather privately to share memories of Mark at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Jan Van Lear assisting. Contributions in memory of Mark may be made to any organization of the donor’s choice.
