Martha Ann Webber, age 77, of Smith Road, Berrien Center, Michigan died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 27, 1935 in Reform, Alabama to Ethan & Rose (Zimmermann) Shelton.

Martha attended school in Reform, Alabama and moved to Berrien Center in 1947 with her family. She worked for Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles and for Shelton Farm Market in Niles. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and caretaker for her parents.

On May 12, 1953 she married Harley C. “Bunk” Webber in LaPorte, Indiana. Her husband of 59 years preceded her in death by just a few days; on the 17th of August.

They are survived by daughters; Debra (& J.D.) White of Osceola, Indiana, Sheryl (& Michael) Coburn of Stevensville, Michigan, Cindy (& Bill) Rough of Niles, Michigan and Pam (& Don) Priest of Eau Claire, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving is Martha’s father; Ethan Shelton of Niles, and brothers; Ronald (& Anna) Shelton of Berrien Springs, James (& Betty) Shelton of Granger, Indiana and Joe (& Deb) Shelton of Niles.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her mother, brothers; Norman Jay and Kenneth Shelton and sister Diana Jean Marston.

Martha faithfully attended Berrien Center Bible Church where she was very involved. She would volunteer for many projects and help with funeral luncheons.

Funeral services for Martha Ann Webber will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Berrien Center Bible Church, Berrien Center with Rev. Mark Smith of the church officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-7:00p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
