Michael Alsup

Michael D. Alsup, age 63 years of Niles, Michigan died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his home unexpectedly but of natural causes.
He was born on May 25, 1949 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Dalton and Evelyn J. (Davis) Alsup. As a child, he was a poster-child for the March of Dimes. He attended Brandywine Community Schools, and has lived in this area all of his life.
Mike was a fan of the late Elvis Presley, and continued to enjoy his music. He also enjoyed fishing in the Saint Joseph River, and playing pool. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2094 in Niles.
He was preceded in death by two children, Barbara Jean Alsup and Robert Dalton Alsup; and by his parents and two sisters, Carol Sue Daren and Linda Jean Lovell.
Surviving family includes his sister, Gail Harrison of Mishawaka, Indiana; and nieces and nephews, Sonja, Tina, Harley, Shawn, Richard, Deanna, Dale, Sheree, and Kenny.
Services for Michael Alsup will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Michael Sirovica of the New Apostolic Church of Niles officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
