Michele ‘Shelley’ Champlin, 48 of Cassopolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Spectrum Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Shelley was born on April 23, 1973 in Kalamazoo to Mike and Robin (Drury) Firestine.

She is preceded in death by her infant sister, Lisa Firestine.

Shelley is survived by her parents, Mike and Robin Firestine of Edwardsburg, her children; Maxwell (Hannah) Strouse of Elkhart and Rebecca (Jacob Campbell) Strouse of Mishawaka, granddaughter, Julia Grace Strouse, her brother; Dr. Steven (Lisa) Firestine of Lavonia, MI, her sister Nicole Firestine of Edwardsburg, nieces; Hailee and Keilee Firestine and nephews, Benjamin and Alexander Firestine.

Shelley was an Accounting Assistant at Monroe Restoration in South Bend.  She loved writing and reading.  Shelley enjoyed many different arts and crafts of all kinds.  She also enjoyed painting.  Shelley had a wonderful sense of humor that she shared with her friends and family.  Going to the beach and sitting around a campfire were always special to her. Shelley loved her cats and they loved her too.  Shelley will always hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services, 615 E. Main St. Niles.
