Richard Martin

Richard Eugene Martin, 84, of Niles passed away at 1:17pm on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI.
Richard was born on May 12, 1932 in Niles to the late Henry and Rose (Milner) Martin. Richard was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Martin; and sisters, Rosemary Juroff, and Gloria Schmaltz.
On January 12, 1952, in Buchanan, Richard married Nancy J. (Anderson), she survives along with son, Larry R. Martin; and daughter, Diane (Charles) Wilcox; and granddaughter, Holli Jaecks.
Richard honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was very proud that he was part of the State Champion Niles High School Football Team. He worked at National Standard. Richard was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was always there for his family.
There will be no services at this time and cremation has taken place. Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
