Rita Marlene Turner peacefully entered the gates of Heaven and was reunited with her beloved husband, Jack, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family at her side. Rita was the sweetest soul, always doing her best to be a devoted and supportive wife, a caring and loving mother, and a funny and encouraging grandmother. She lived life fully and lovingly, bringing laughter to many, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Born on November 20, 1933, to Harry H. and Florence Snyder (Yeagley), Rita’s life was rooted in family, friendship, and simple joys. As a young girl, she loved spending time with her family and skating at the roller rink with friends—where fate stepped in and she met the love of her life, Jack. Their story began there, leading to their marriage on July 16, 1960, and a beautiful sixty-five years spent side by side, full of love, laughter, and shared memories.
Rita dedicated many years to her professional life, working at Citizen’s National Bank in Bryan, Ohio, before moving to Niles, Michigan, where she continued her career at Kent Bank. She later completed her working years at CNC Products. Retirement never slowed her down, though—she found great joy as a beloved Avon representative, where she did far more than sell products. Rita built genuine relationships, shared kind conversations, and spread her joy and warmth to everyone she met, often leaving customers smiling long after she left their door.
Family was always Rita’s greatest priority. After settling in Bryan, Ohio, she and Jack grew their family from two to five with the arrival of Jacqueline, Patrick, and Bradley. Rita was a devoted and encouraging mother—cheering proudly as Jacqueline twirled her baton, standing steadfast beside Patrick as he served in the Air Force, and enthusiastically supporting Bradley as he wrestled his way through school. That same unwavering encouragement continued as she lovingly supported her grandchildren in their academics, activities, and dreams.
Rita was a sensitive soul with a gift for making others laugh and a heart that always put the needs of others before her own. She was a constant listening ear, a gentle encourager, and a comforting presence. Her absence leaves an immeasurable void for those who remain, but her kindness, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
Rita is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Dave), Patrick (April), and Bradley (Heidi); grandchildren, Angie (Josh), Heather, Kelsey (Sam), Erica (Chris), Haley (Josh), Sean (Madeline), Raegan, and Ashlynn (Austin); great grandchildren, Cagney, Ky, Lauren, Mali, Rune, Nova, Leah, Summer, Madeline, Henry, Noah, Ellie, and Kaitlyn; and her granddogs Bentley, Rigley, Nala, Kio, Kinley, Mabel, Duke, Hondo, Moby, Ranger, and Maisie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Florence Snyder; stepmother, Blanche Snyder; husband, Jack Turner; siblings Harry Jr., Robert Snyder; and her great granddaughter, April.
A private celebration of Rita’s joyful life will be held at a later date, where we will honor and remember the many beautiful moments we shared. We will hold Rita in our hearts forever, thankful for the love and joy she shared so freely. Heaven shines a little brighter with her presence, and her spirit will always walk beside us, guiding us in the days to come.
