Steven A. Brigham, age 64 years of Niles, Michigan died at 4:42 p.m. on Sunday, Jun3 23, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana unexpectedly but of natural causes.

He was born on May 2, 1949 in Decatur, Michigan to Thomas A. and Virginia M. (Mathias) Brigham, Jr. He attended school in Decatur and Brandywine, and has lived in this area all of his life. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era, serving in the United States Army. He was a professional security guard serving several local businesses, including many years at The Woodwind and Brasswind.

Steve was a great fan of The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. He had a large collection of music recordings of both Elvis and The Beatles, mostly on 8-track tape cartridges, and usually listened to the music while enjoying a Budweiser.

He was first married to Shelley Cotterman. Later, in October of 1982 in Mishawaka, Indiana he married the former Pamela Kay Lintz who preceded him in death on July 10, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ginny Brigham on April 9, 1989, and Tom Brigham, Jr. on September 5, 2012.

Steve is survived by his children, April (& Zachary) Taylor of Westcliffe, Colorado, Keith S. (& Jennifer Plew) Brigham of Niles, and Aron T. Brigham of Niles; grandchildren Paige Lintz, Haley Plew, Mellisa Cox, Chandler Plew, and Brittany Jarman; and by Steve’s sisters, Carol L. (& Philip) Kee of Granger, Indiana and Julie A. (& Kent) O’Brien of Old Fort, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Kathy Galacia of South Bend.

The funeral service for Steven Brigham will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Jim Dunn of the Yore Community Church in Benton Harbor, Michigan officiating. Committal will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, and will conclude with the Full Military Honors by the Unites States Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post #51.
