Timothy Burgess

September 22, 1957 — December 25, 2012

Timothy L. Burgess, age 55, of Hickory Street, Niles, Michigan died on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles unexpectedly, but of natural causes. He was born September 22, 1957 in Saint Joseph, Michigan to Leon & Joyce (Strickland) Burgess. On February 14, 1992 in Saint Joseph, Michigan he married the former Ingrid Pallot, she survives.

Timothy was a 1975 graduate of Benton Harbor High School and loved to play baseball and softball. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved all Notre Dame sports. Timothy enjoyed fishing and more recently playing video games, especially war-related games to help with his rehabilitation. He would spend his time reading history books.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter Casey Guzman, his mother, Joyce Burgess; step-sons, Brian (& Bobbie Jo) Allred of Ovid, Michigan, Robert (& fianceé Michelle) Allred of Niles, and Michael (Vincent) Allred of Niles; 8 grandchildren; and Timothy’s brothers, Tony (& Cindy) Burgess of Sodus, Michigan, Terry (& Sandy) Burgess of Watervliet, Michigan, and Keith (& Anna) Burgess of Brunswick, Ohio and sisters, Tammy (& Ray) Snyder and Tracy Burgess (O’Hare) both of Benton Harbor, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Burgess, and daughter Courtney Burgess.

The funeral service for Timothy Burgess will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
