Tucker Vaughn

June 17, 2005 — June 28, 2025

Niles, Michigan

Tucker Jay Vaughn of Niles, Michigan; son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and hard worker died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 28, 2025 in New Buffalo, Michigan, just eleven days after his twentieth birthday.

He was born on June 17, 2005 in South Bend, Indiana to Michael J. and Misty M. (Lintz) Vaughn, and has lived in Niles all of his life. He was graduated from Niles High School, where he had been a member of the National Honors Society. He was always industrious, already working on a roofing project at thirteen years old, and was currently employed as a heavy equipment operator at Kalin Construction Company, Inc.

While Tucker was well-known for his work ethic, he also enjoyed cars and trucks, including his 1996 Mustang Cobra, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

Surviving family includes his parents, Misty and Mike Vaughn of Niles; big-brother, James Vaughn, and sister, Braylee Vaughn, both of Niles; grandparents, Michael and Robyn Vaughn, Sr. of Niles and Nelson Baber of Buchanan, Michigan; Aunt Kelli (& Jason) Vance of Niles, Uncle Cody (& Bryan) Thomas of Indianapolis, Indiana and Uncle Orville (& Sheila) Thomas of Buchanan; and many cousins, who were like brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Kimberly Vaughn in 2008 and Lori Baber in 2024, and grandfather, Charles Lintz, Jr. in 2012.

Memories of Tucker Vaughn will be shared, and his life honored at Noon on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home, 615 East Main Street in Niles, with Pastor Scott Smith of Portage Prairie United Methodist Church in Niles officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Online condolences may be left at:

Twenty years is far too brief, but Tucker used all 7,316 days well, playing as a child, studying in school, working as a contributing member of society, and loving to spend time with his family, especially his parents and his big brother.
