William C. Poznanski, age 81, was born April 7, 1944, in South Bend, Indiana, and passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, surrounded by family and love.
He is survived by his three sons, Eric (Krissi) Poznanski of Granger, Indiana, William T. (Roberta) Poznanski of Portage, Indiana, and Daniel (Christine) Poznanski of Opelika, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Sophia (Brandon) Oliver, Derek Needs-Poznanski, Joel Poznanski, Allison Poznanski, Tia Rain (Derek Mein) Poznanski, Mandy (Jared) Poznanski-Jolley, and Madison Poznanski; two great-granddaughters, Eleanor Ruth and Daphne Claire; and his brother, Terry (Debbie) Poznanski, along with many extended family members who will miss him deeply.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Jean Poznanski, whom he married on August 29, 1964; his parents, Clement and Martha (Sobczak) Poznanski; and his brother, Harvey Poznanski.
As a retired police officer, William lived a life defined by service, integrity, and quiet strength. In retirement, he found joy on the golf course and treasured time spent with his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal brother, and friend.
Please join us as we celebrate the life of William C. Poznanski on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., where we will begin with an opeining prayer at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services in Niles, Michigan.
Family tributes and memories shared by those who worked alongside William will follow.
At 3:00 P.M., the family will drive William to meet his beloved Norma at their final resting place at Silverbrook Cemetery. Following the service, family and extended family are warmly invited to join for dinner at Prime Table in Niles, Michigan. We look forward to honoring William’s life together through love, remembrance, and shared stories.
