Niles -Fredrick H. Cribbs, 90, went home to be with his heavenly Father at 8:25am on Thursday, November 22, 2018.
Fred was born on February 7, 1928 in Battle Creek, MI, to the late Archie A. and Eta M. (Carter) Cribbs. On April 18, 1948 in Niles, Fred married Margaret J. (Olinghouse) who passed away on October 23, 2003. Together they raised a beautiful family, son, Douglas (Tony) Cribbs, and daughters, Nancy (Charles) Lord, Karen Robinson, and Sarah (Doug) Booe. They were blessed with 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Fred was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brian Robinson.
Fred impacted the lives of many in his family and his home church, Trinity Episcopal where he was very active, and many lives were touched by his faithful service. He enjoyed making people laugh with his comical comments. Fred was an Offset Pressman with Simplicity, after he retired from Simplicity he was a truck driver for Innovation Machining for 20 years, and was a Fire Chief at the Howard Township Fire Department.
Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 in HALBRITTER WICKENS FUNERAL HOME, 615 E. Main St., Niles. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Jim Slack officiating. Burial will follow in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be given to the Howard Township Fire Department 2681 Detroit Rd, Niles, MI 49120.
