Jonas Michael Hamilton
January 12, 1974 – March 17, 2023

Jonas Michael Hamilton, 49 of St. Joseph passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, March 17,
2023.
Jonas was born on January 12, 1974 in Niles to Dale and Donna (Neidlinger) Hamilton.
He is survived by his father, Dale (Sue) Hamilton of Niles, his son Justin Carter Hamilton of Maine, his
sisters, Angie Moore and Shawn (Brian) Wartick of Berrien Springs and his brother, Dan (Easter) Baber of
Niles. He is also survived by special friend, Keemen Dayhuff of Edwardsburg and all his friends at Ju Ju’s
Bar.
Jonas had honorably served in the U.S. Army for many years. He was a Geospatial Intelligence Imagery
Analyst for the Army. Jonas had the ability to take aerial imagery, geospatial data, full motion video and
other information to provide leadership with critical information.
Jonas had his own unique outlook on life. He enjoyed having a drink with his friends. Jonas liked to hunt
and fish. He would also kayak with his friends from Ju Ju’s. He liked to walk his chocolate lab, Wrigley to
the pier and fish as well.  Recently he had an ice fishing trip with the guys and Wrigley. He also went
with Keemen to the Renaissance fair and dressed for live action roll play. He loved music, played guitar,
sang, and wrote songs. Jonas loved Sisters of Mercy. He loved to kayak and spend time outside camping
in nature. He was passionate about anything Star Wars, especially Obi wan and the Mandalorian. He
knew how to play and enjoyed cosplaying different characters. Halloween was his favorite holiday.
Jonas loved Lake Michigan; it reminded him of time with his grandfather. He enjoyed playing pool. He
LIVED to think "outside of the box" Jonas was an intense personality, but if you "got" him, you couldn't
help but love him, sometimes, in spite of himself. He loved his son Justin and was incredibly proud of
the man he has become.

The family would like to give a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to his friend, Keemen for all the care and friendship
she provided.
Cremation has taken place. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Halbritter Wickens
Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St. Niles.
