Lisa Lintz

December 21, 1975 — February 6, 2020

Lisa Ann Lintz, age 44 years, mother, grandmother, fiancé, and always outspoken died unexpectedly at 1:04 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in the emergency department of Spectrum Lakeland Hospital in Niles of natural causes following a medical crisis at her home.

She was born on December 21, 1975 at the former Pawating Hospital (now Spectrum Lakeland) in Niles to Glen R. Withers and Sally Ann Lintz.  She attended Niles Community Schools, and was first employed at Toefco Engineering in Niles.  She would later be employed at the counter of Andy Legus’ Shell Station, and finally at Pass Pets which suited her well.  She has lived in Niles all of her life.

Lisa loved animals, having a houseful of pets, and always having room to take-in another stray that needed her tender loving care . . . and food.  The “TLC” concept was less obvious in her relationship with people, as she was known to share with others her strongly held – and sometimes colorful – opinions.  This could even include her opinion of what to do, where to go, and what to eat.  But as human relations are often complex, everybody loved her, and now needs to decide for themselves about what to do next.

She was a fan of the University of Notre Dame football team, and was a tattoo enthusiast, including large complex pieces with color realism and shading, and the simple, petite outline next-to her left eye that is associated with her nickname, “Teardrop”.  Above all, she really did love her family, with a whole new level of love for her grandchild.

Lisa was preceded in death by a stillborn son, a brother, Richard Withers, and by a step-father, James Krassow.

Surviving family includes her fiancé, Michael Joseph Rhodes, and her children, Nikita Wolfe and Dillon Lintz, both of Niles and Bryce Placher and Jay Placher, both of Buchanan, Michigan; a granddaughter, Adilynn Wolfe; Lisa’s mother, Sally Lintz of Elkhart, Indiana and father, Glen (& Elaine) Withers of Buchanan; and Lisa’s siblings, Denise Sheeley of Cartersville, Georgia and G. Tim (& Heather) Withers of Buchanan, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Lisa Lintz will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home, 615 East Main Street in Niles with Pastor Paul Deeds of the Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle of Buchanan officiating.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Lisa had a left arm sleeve tattoo that began at her shoulder with a pocketwatch and the words “Time heals all wounds”.  That sleeve ended at her wrist with a tattooed semi-colon - ; - and “my story isn’t over yet”, symbolic of a life with emotional struggles.  While the struggles are over, her story does indeed continue . . . in the hearts and memories and shared stories of those who love her.
